Owner of Workshop Underground Found Inspiration for His Latest Jewelry Line in AI

Workshop Underground owner Ben Luna used ChatGPT to experiment with virtual design elements in his creative process for his newest line.

Workshop Underground owner Ben Luna drew inspiration from AI technology for his latest jewelry line, using ChatGPT to experiment with virtual design elements in his creative process, writes Kristin Detterline for Philadelphia Magazine.

Luna, who also runs his Graduate Hospital jewelry boutique offering handmade engagement rings, wedding bands, and various other pieces, has created a limited-edition Birthstone & Birthflower gift set released just in time for the shop’s tenth anniversary.

Each set includes a customized natural birthstone necklace in 14K gold, as well as a framed birth flower print showcasing a black-and-white zebra pattern generated by ChatGPT using Luna’s prompts. April includes a diamond and sweet pea pairing, while May sets come with a lily of the valley birth flower print. June will include a rose.

Luna, who previously oversaw the product design department at the Metropolitan Museum of Art for exhibitions like Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty was so impressed by the final result that he decided to create matching merchandise for it, such as tote bags and puzzles.
