Comcast recently created a new role — chief growth officer in the residential domestic businesses of its Connectivity & Platforms segment — and appointed Jon Gieselman into the role, writes Todd Spangler for Variety.
In the new role, Gieselman will be responsible for leading the team that leads Comcast’s U.S. residential businesses. This includes product and Xfinity brand strategies across TV, broadband and wireless.
He will also lead in sales, marketing, acquisition, retention, and base management.
Gieselman has tons of experience in executive roles at large technology companies.
His most recent role was as president of Expedia Brands, where he led all of Expedia Group’s consumer-facing businesses worldwide.
Gieselman also spent five years as vice president of services marketing at Apple.
Prior to that, he served a decade as senior vice president of marketing at DirecTV.
In a press release, Comcast’s Connectivity & Platforms division COO Steve Croney praised Gieselman as “a bold and transformational leader who will bring fresh thinking to our product and growth strategy.”
Gieselman will officially start his new role at Comcast on Monday, April 28. He will relocating from San Francisco to Philadelphia to do it.
