As an exclusive partner of the NFL, members of the Verizon team are often in attendance at dozens of games throughout the season.
For West Wilson, who recently attended three NFL games on the same Sunday, the size of the team’s market does not equate to anything compared to the popularity of the league itself, he writes for Complex.
This realization got him thinking about what the best NFL markets are.
Philadelphia is firmly in the top 10, ranking fifth on the list.
“Whether or not you like Birds fans, you have to respect the Philadelphia sports scene,” Wilson writes. “A kelly green throwback jersey paired with a Whiz cheesesteak in one hand and a middle finger in the other is peak NFL aesthetic.”
The Philadelphia Eagles are also in the NFC East, a division built off of historic rivalries, with its counterparts the Dallas Cowboys (who ranked No. 10), New York Giants, and Washington Commanders.
The Eagles also play at Lincoln Financial Field, which Wilson notes is the only stadium in the country with a jail in it.
“Every weekend in Philadelphia is hostile, and I hope it never changes,” he added.
