In addition to Delicious Steaks, Joey Chops in Malvern Has Much More to Offer

Joey Chops in Malvern is a boutique steakhouse that goes beyond steaks with offerings such as lobster dumplings and salmon Wellington, writes Jason Sheehan for Philadelphia Magazine

Brought to life by the Stove & Tap crew a year ago, the eatery elevates the steakhouse game but still does everything it can to please those who are in the mood for a thick steak and all the trimmings.

It offers a nicely charred, perfectly mid-rare New York strip dressed in béarnaise or maître’d butter on request. The creamed spinach is deliciously rich and the whipped potatoes are overflowing with butter.

But what really makes a difference for this particular steakhouse is that everything else can be found on the menu.

The mouthwatering lobster dumplings are crisped along the edges and served over a mound of edamame puree and whole soybeans. Crispy rice cubes are topped with spicy salmon tartare and thin slices of jalapeño. Tasty salmon Wellington is served in a pastry jacket and with silky beurre blanc on the side.

Other highlights include Burrata ravioli and airline chicken Milanese.
