Founder of Mount Airy Thrift Store I Spy, You Buy Is Her Community’s ‘Personal Shopper’

Dolly Lewis is the founder and owner of I Spy, You Buy, a Mount Airy-based thrift shop.

Dolly Lewis is the owner of I Spy, You Buy, a thrift store in Mount Airy, writes Nick Iadonisi at 6abc.

As a fashion designer, stylist, and curator, Lewis has a keen eye for detail and fulfilling her customer’s requests. That is the basis of her thrift store.

“Instead of people donating to I Spy, You Buy, I actually go out and I source and I handpick everything that you see,” she said.

Customers are able to send in a request to Lewis for items they would like, and then she goes out and searches for them while thrifting.

Through the clothing, Lewis provides and offers sustainability, and quality over quantity for people of all ages and sizes.

Overall, her mission is to create a family environment through the apparel and its affordable prices.

Since opening the Mount Airy shop, Lewis has developed customers who have become like family.

“The clothes are a way for us to connect, we need each other,” said Lewis. “This is retail therapy. They come in, I know about their lives and their families, and it’s really powerful for me,” said Lewis.
