The surge capped a remarkable journey for Ramirez, a former teacher and librarian who relocated to the Philadelphia area to be closer to family.
She launched a taco food truck in 2024, then opened Luna’s Mexican Grill in March 2025 with a crucial assist from former Village Vine owner John Hearn, who lowered the sale price of the space because he believed in her vision.
Luna’s had already been gaining quiet momentum from a local TikTok review before Affleck’s visit pushed it into a different stratosphere entirely.
