The latest best high schools in Pennsylvania list has been released and the top high school in the state is in Philadelphia, according to U.S. News & World Report.
The Julia R. Masterman Secondary School has been ranked the best high in the state with a 99 percent graduation rate and a 95.8 college readiness rating.
Not only does Philadelphia have the best high school in the nation, but two of the top three.
Closely behind is Central High School at No. 3 with a 97 percent graduation rate and 59.9 college readiness rate.
Philadelphia is represented once more within the top 20.
Academy at Palumbo was ranked as the No. 19 high school in the nation, sporting a 95 percent graduation rate and 51.1 college readiness rate.
The top 50 high schools in the state also includes two more Philadelphia schools, with High School of Engineering & Science and Girard Academic Music Program coming in at No. 30 and No. 31, respectively.
The ranking are based off six key metrics: college readiness, state assessment proficiency, state assessment performance, graduation rate, underserved student performance, and college curriculum breadth.
