Comcast’s Xfinity Set to Air First-Ever Super Bowl Ad

Comcast Xfinity's first Super Bowl ad is a Jurassic Park-themed one featuring cameos of several stars from the 1993 film.

Comcast’s Xfinity is set to air its first Super Bowl commercial on Sunday, writes Ryan Mulligan for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

In the commercial, the Jurassic Park world is powered by Xfinity. It features cameos from the likes of Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, and Sam Neill, as well as a clip from the original Steven Spielberg film and a scene with Samuel L. Jackson. All of them reprise their roles from the film.

While the original Jurassic Park has its own story, the Super Bowl ad shows how Xfinity Wi-Fi swiftly corrects a widespread systems failure, preventing the demise of the dinosaur theme park.

This allows the actors to enjoy the park and relax rather than running away, screaming in fear.

Xfinity closes the ad by calling the network “a whole new species of Wi-Fi.”

“By asking what Jurassic Park could have been with Xfinity’s fast, secure WiFi, we’re creating a fun, cultural crossover only Comcast NBCUniversal could deliver,” said John Gieselman, the chief growth officer for Comcast’s connectivity and platforms business, in a statement.

This ad helps put Xfinity on a national stage, in front of the world’s largest TV audience. Seeing as how Super Bowl LX will air on NBC and stream on Peacock — both affiliated with Comcast — it’s a perfect fit.
