Wicked Wolf, a popular sports bar and club in Center City, has closed its doors after just a few years in business, writes Joe Hyer for WPST.
This closure comes just weeks after its Hoboken, New Jersey location also shut down after 15 years in business. Sean Sullivan, the bar’s owner, said the closure was because of an inability to reach an agreement with the landlords on a possible rent increase.
In a recent Instagram post, Wicked Wolf Philadelphia shared a 15 second video with the words, “thanks for the memories” at the center.
While it is not confirmed why it is closing, the caption reads, “After a few unforgettable years on Chestnut Street, we’ve made the incredibly hard decision to close our doors. Thank you to our loyal customers and our wonderful staff — you turned this space into something so much more than a business. We’ll forever be grateful for the memories we made together.”
Since it opened in December 2022, Wicked Wolf has hosted a number of big events, namely watch parties for the Philadelphia Phillies and Philadelphia Eagles, and St. Patrick’s Day Bar Crawls, among others.
