Reading Terminal Market, the largest and oldest public market in America, recently celebrated the launch of its new merchandise store, The Market Merch, writes Siafa Lewis for CBS News Philadelphia.
In addition to more than 80 merchants already at the market, the new shop includes a dedicated space featuring Reading Terminal-themed gifts, from mugs and sweatshirts to hats and tote bags, creating a perfect opportunity for holiday shopping.
The new store officially opened its doors on Wednesday, December 3. Philadelphia illustrators Fabiola Lara and Sean Rynkewicz participated in the celebration, showcasing limited edition merchandise created exclusively for Reading Terminal Market.
Lara got to showcase her viral mini-print machines during the opening.
“I just feel so honored to be in such a historic site,” said Lara. “The market is so important to me because it’s a hub where people can come to get a taste of Philadelphia.”
Rynkewicz displayed a train-themed design available on a limited-edition T-shirt.
“I remember coming here in high school and just thinking how cool of a place it was, and so, to be here now, years later, is an honor, it’s pretty fun,” said Rynkewicz.
The market also revealed its 2025 holiday ornament.
