From Pupusas to Peking Duck: 8 Dishes You Have to Try at Reading Terminal Market

Reading Terminal Market is filled with dozens of eateries with hundreds of delicious dishes, and here are some that are likely to satisfy, such as the pretzels and pretzel dogs from Miller's Twist.

Reading Terminal Market is known for its onslaught of food options at its several dozen eateries, and some of the market’s most delicious dishes are Philly classics, writes Maddy Sweitzer-Lamme for Philadelphia Magazine.

If you’re up to try pupusas from El Merkury, you can get the cheesesteak pupusa or the classic bean and cheese as two of its several options.

The egg and cheese bialy at Kismet is another great food option inside Reading Terminal Market.

While Philadelphia doesn’t have a ton of Filipino food spots, Tambayan is one of the city’s few. Its lumpia, stuffed with pork and fried, and their bowls of pancit are two of its best options.

The peking duck with a vegetable platter from Sang Kee Peking Duck is another popular dish.

It’s rare to compile a list of food options in Philly without a cheesesteak recommendation, and ordering one from Uncle Gus’ Steaks is a popular choice.

A similar point can be made about pretzels. But if you’re in the mood for a pretzel dog, specifically, Miller’s Twist has you covered.

Lastly, if you’re craving Cajun food, it would be a great idea to stop at Beck’s Cajun Cafe. There, you can order po’boys, gumbo, or a selection of other items.
