The new podcast Get Down to Business, hosted by Lauren Everett, highlights B Corp companies and places Philadelphia in its first season, writes Michaela Althouse for PhillyVoice.
“We knew that there was a very well-established and diverse group of local B Corps in Philly, and what we were looking for with this first season was this diversity and thought and ownership in relationship to the standards, and just the certification process in and of itself,” said Everett. “Philly was really a no-brainer for us.”
Founded in Berwyn, nonprofit B Lab U.S. and Canada grants companies B Corp status when they meet specific social and environmental standards in their operations. The new podcast, run by the organization, will highlight a different city each season by interviewing business owners and experts.
The first season focuses on four Philadelphia companies: Triple Bottom Brewing; Solar States, a renewable energy company; Re:Vision Architecture, a design firm; and NOOR by Grant Blvd, a sustainable clothing brand.
Each episode runs between 40 and 60 minutes and explores a different aspect of the certification journey. The podcast will stream on major platforms including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iHeartRadio, YouTube, Amazon Music, and Pandora.
