Starting teacher salaries in Bucks County are among the highest in the state.

Recently released state salary data reveals that Bucks County public schools offer some of the highest new teacher salaries across Pennsylvania, writes Chris Ullery for the Bucks County Courier Times.

As of Oct. 10, 2024, the average salary for a teacher in the county with up to five years of experience ranked in the upper half among 500 school districts across the state, with only Palisades School District reporting a lower average.

New Hope-Solebury and Centennial school districts ranked first and eighth in the state for highest average starting teacher salaries, offering $95,446 and $81,639, respectively.

The totals are based on individual staff reports for the 2024-2025 school year published in April by the state education department.

Statewide, the average salary for new teachers with an undergraduate degree was about $58,335 this school year, while new teachers with postgraduate degrees earned around $66,511.

Two more Bucks County school districts ranked in the top fifty: Bensalem Township School District at No. 28, offering around $69,661 for teachers with one to five years of experience, and Quakertown Community School District at No. 40, with approximately $67,985.
