According to recent salary reports from the Pennsylvania Department of Education, Bucks County public school teachers are among the best-paid in the state, writes Chris Ullery for the Bucks County Courier Times.
The highest-paid teachers in most of the county’s 13 school districts rank among the top 50 salaries statewide—additionally, all 13 districts placed among the top 100.
The salary reports show the earnings of 202,864 administrators and educators in public and charter schools throughout the Commonwealth. Pennsylvania Department of Education receives the data from school leaders each October and publishes it the following spring.
Of approximately 3,351 full-time teachers in Bucks County, 2,780 earn more than the average teacher salary in Pennsylvania, which is $84,003.
New Hope-Solebury School District ranked among the top 10, with the highest teacher salary of $128,599, the sixth highest in Pennsylvania.
Central Bucks ranked at No. 15 with a top salary of $123,310, followed by Centennial at No. 20 with $121,669 and Council Rock at No. 22 with $121,226.
Also making the top 50 are Bensalem Township at No. 29, Neshaminy at No. 42, Palisades at No. 43, Quakertown Community at No. 45, and Bristol Township at No. 48.
