Wawa has selected April 16 – its 61st anniversary, also fondly known as Wawa Day – as the opening day for its first store in Ohio, located in Butler County, reports FOX 10.
The convenience store complete with a gas station will be located at 7198 Cincinnati Dayton Road, in Liberty Township.
The opening will launch Wawa’s expansion into the Midwest.
The location is the first of eight to ten stores that are expected to be open by the year’s end in Ohio. These will offer fresh food, beverages, convenience, fuel, along with much more.
The company also said that it plans on opening up to 60 stores in the state over the next five to eight years.
“We are excited to fly into Ohio and bring our unique combination of fresh food and beverage, convenience, and service to this state for the very first time. This historic milestone kicks off our ongoing growth and expansion in Ohio as we continue to build new stores and create new jobs,” said Brian Schaller, President of Wawa.
