Philadelphia’s Sakura Cherry Blossom Festival has added a delicious new feature this year in collaboration with a local chef-owned food tour company.
The Japan America Society of Greater Philadelphia along with Chef Jacquie Kelly of StrEATS of Philly Food Tours are offering food tours at Japanese restaurants in celebration of the Cherry Blossom Festival.
“The cherry blossoms and festival are a beautiful reminder that spring is near, bringing vibrant nature and seasonal bounty,’ said Chef Jacquie. “I’ve been fascinated by Japanese culture since childhood, and this year, I’m beyond thrilled to share my food tour company—now celebrating 15 years—with the Japanese American Society and festival guests.”
From March 26 to 30, Chef Jacquie will host an immersive two-hour guided lunch tour (11:30 AM to 1:30 PM) starting at Bleu Sushi, proceeding to Aki Nom Nom, and ending at T-Swirl Crepes. Tickets are $115/pp.
On March 26, Chef Jacquie will host a three-and-a-half-hour progressive dinner tour (5:30 PM to 9:00 PM) kicking off at Fat Salmon, continuing to Umami Steak & Sushi, and concluding at Yakitori Boy. Tickets are $259/pp.
Chef Jacquie will share stories of Japanese influence in the city, creating a unique and cultural experience that can’t be found anywhere else in Philadelphia.
