New Sushi Spot Opens Inside Japanese Restaurant in Fishtown

A new sushi spot, Sushi Suite, has opened to provide sushi lovers with the omakase experience.

A new sushi spot has opened in Fishtown and provides its customers with a unique experience, writes Maggie Mancini for Phillyvoice.

Sushi Suite is the newest addition to Japanese restaurantIzakaya Fishtown on Frankford Avenue

The space is an eight-seat sushi counter.

Head Chef Mitsutaka Harada prepares a wide range of sushi dishes that can be paired with a variety of cocktails, Japanese whiskeys, or sake.

At Sushi Suite, the goal is for customers to get the omakase experience, which is a meal of dishes selected by the chef and costs about $185 per person before tax and tips.

“To be able to hear a chef describe their food, taste the passion behind it, and see it being made in front of you is a show in and of itself, and we want everyone to be able to experience this style of dining,” said Michael Sinensky, founder of SimpleVenue.

SimpleVenue is the New York-based restaurant group that owns Sushi Suite.

It also has plans to open two Sushi by Bou locations in Philadelphia over the next several months, adding more to a growing sushi scene in the city.
