At just 20, Philadelphia Union’s Quinn Sullivan is stepping into a leadership role, writes Matthew DeGeorge for the Delco Times.
The Norristown native is guiding younger teammates with a maturity beyond his years. Born on March 27, 2004, in Philadelphia, Sullivan’s journey began with Fishtown A.C. before joining the Union’s academy in 2016. He debuted professionally at 16 with Philadelphia Union II on July 18, 2020, and signed with the first team in November 2020. Since then, he’s made 94 appearances and scored 10 goals for the Union.
Internationally, Sullivan has represented the U.S. U-20 team 19 times, netting 10 goals. His standout performance at the 2022 CONCACAF U-20 Championship included a hat trick against Cuba, earning him a spot in the tournament’s Best XI.
Despite his youth, Sullivan’s experience is invaluable to the Union. He mentors academy players transitioning to the first team, emphasizing the importance of hard work and adaptability. Sullivan’s leadership is evident both on and off the field, as he balances his burgeoning career with guiding the next generation of talent.
