Asher Dahlgren, a junior at Springfield Township High School, decided to turn his social media prowess into a successful business, writes Len Lear for the Chestnut Hill Local.
The 16-year-old started Dahlgren Social Media Services in 2023. Today, he has a team of seven students and ten paying clients.
He first got the idea for his business two years ago.
“I was walking down the street, and I noticed so many small businesses that I was sure were not taking advantage of social media,” said Asher Dahlgren. “I thought I could help them, so I offered to help them.”
He began by offering his social media services to Springfield Township Skatepark for free.
“That gave me the confidence to know I could do it,” he said. “So I then started charging low fees.”
As he gained more experience, the number of his clients started to rise to the point where he could not do it by himself. So he decided to recruit other high school students who are adept at social media for his firm.
Together, they now offer a range of content creation and social media services to local businesses.
