Brooklyn Dumpling Shop is a new Philly spot that puts a fun twist on dumplings, reports Bob Kelly for FOX 29.
The new eatery in South Street offers specialty dumplings with some of the local favorite dishes, from Mac ‘n Cheese to Bacon Cheeseburger to Korean BBQ and so many more.
“We’re a franchise,” said Nick Sordoni, co-owner of Brooklyn Dumpling Shop. “We’re a spin-off of Brooklyn Chop House in New York and they always had specialty dumplings at their restaurants and we all came up with these together.”
Another local favorite is Kung Pao Waffle Fries with a peanut butter sauce.
There are also several delicious dessert options, including Apple Cinnamon Dumplings and Vegan Ice Cream.
Brooklyn Dumpling Shop does not have a cashier.
A customer orders a meal using a kiosk with an electronic menu. Once it is done, the customer receives a text message. They can then scan their receipt and receive their meal through one of the automated lockers.
