Bucks County Community College and Ursinus College have announced a deal that creates new possibilities for students in the Greater Philadelphia region.

The dual admission and core-to-core transfer agreement, signed June 10 in a ceremony at Ursinus College in Collegeville, creates a direct pathway for Bucks graduates at the public two-year college to transfer to Ursinus, a nationally-ranked private liberal arts college.
For the most academically accomplished students, the agreement also comes with a scholarship that could help with Ursinus education costs.

“This is a unique educational opportunity of high academic quality,” said Bucks County Community College President and CEO Patrick M. Jones, Ph.D. “Students at Bucks will now have the opportunity for dual admission to one of the finest liberal arts colleges in the country.”
What the Agreement Actually Means for Students
Most transfer agreements promise a smooth transition from one institution to another. This one goes further.
Credits earned in Bucks County Community College’s core curriculum transfer seamlessly and count toward Ursinus’s core requirements. That eliminates frustrating credit losses that can discourage students from pursuing four-year degrees after community college.
Under the arrangement, students can be simultaneously admitted from the start to both Bucks County Community College and Ursinus College.
That arrangement gives students the financial advantages of beginning at a community college while maintaining a confirmed place at Ursinus when they are ready to transfer.
For honors students, there are merit scholarship financial incentives up to $43,000 a year available.
The Bottom Line for Students
For a student beginning at Bucks County Community College, this agreement offers a confirmed pathway to a top 100 liberal arts college, with generous scholarship support, seamless credit transfer, and the backing of two institutions committed to making that transition as straightforward as possible.
Bucks students already have dual-admission agreements with Penn State, Drexel, and Temple University. For students drawn to the depth and intimacy of a liberal arts education, Ursinus joins that list.
A Shared Vision for Student Success
For Ursinus, the agreement reflects a commitment to expanding access to the kind of education the college has always offered.
“This new partnership reflects our shared commitment to expanding educational access and opportunity and to supporting student success,” said Ursinus President Gundolf Graml, Ph.D. “By establishing a direct and supportive transfer pathway to Ursinus College, we are helping students continue their academic journeys with confidence at a college where an applied liberal arts approach and immersive experiential learning opportunities prepare graduates to think critically, lead effectively, and thrive in whatever careers they pursue.”
