The quarterback sneak is a rather common play in NFL games, but the Philadelphia Eagles’ version of the play, dubbed the ‘Tush Push’ has had a very high success rate compared to other NFL teams.

The Eagles have converted on 41 of 44 times they’ve run the play over the last two seasons.

The success rate, as well as its risk for injuries, has led to many calling for the play to be banned, but Eagles coach Nick Sirianni isn’t here for it, writes Chuck Schilken for the Los Angeles Times.

“You’ve seen it across the league that people can’t do it like we can do it … And so I’m making my plug right there, don’t ban this play,” said Sirianni.

The NFL competition committee has had talks since last season to prohibit the play, but no action took place. It is highly expected that the topic will come up again this upcoming offseason.

Critics have said that the Eagles are getting an unfair advantage with the play. However, with the success rate for other teams being much lower, Sirianni doesn’t see the logic in that argument.

“If everyone could do it, everyone would do it,” he said.
