LinkedIn Live Is Changing: How to Livestream on LinkedIn in 2026

LinkedIn Live is evolving. Beginning June 22, 2026, livestreams must now be scheduled before going live.

LinkedIn Live will require all broadcasts to be scheduled in advance starting June 22, 2026.

According to LinkedIn Help, spontaneous livestreams won’t be possible; schedule events first.

Events can still be scheduled shortly before going live if needed.

Leverage LinkedIn Live to enhance organizational visibility, credibility, and community engagement.

At Great Careers Network, we use LinkedIn Live for our monthly Recruiter on Call with Jobs event, which streams simultaneously on LinkedIn and YouTube to help job seekers connect with recruiters, access hiring insights, and find career resources.

Step-by-Step: How to Livestream on LinkedIn

Step 1: Apply for LinkedIn Live Access

Qualify for LinkedIn Live through your profile or LinkedIn Page.

LinkedIn generally requires:

  • A profile or Page in good standing
  • A history of following LinkedIn policies
  • An established audience and activity history

Step 2: Choose a Streaming Platform

LinkedIn Live requires a third-party broadcasting platform. Popular options include:

  • Restream
  • StreamYard
  • Socialive
  • Switcher Studio

These tools allow you to stream to LinkedIn and other platforms simultaneously.

Step 3: Connect Your LinkedIn Account

Authorize your LinkedIn profile or Page in your streaming software.

Step 4: Schedule Your Event

This step is required starting June 22, 2026.

Create your LinkedIn event before going live by adding:

  • Event title
  • Date and time
  • Description
  • Thumbnail image
  • Registration settings (optional)

Step 5: Promote the Livestream

Share the event:

  • On LinkedIn posts
  • In LinkedIn groups
  • Through email newsletters
  • On other social media platforms

Step 6: Go Live

When your event begins:

  • Open your streaming platform
  • Select the scheduled LinkedIn event
  • Test audio and video
  • Click “Go Live”

Step 7: Repurpose the Content

After the livestream:

  • Share clips on LinkedIn
  • Upload livestream recordings to YouTube (unless you set them to stream there in advance)
  • Turn discussions into articles or newsletters
  • Reuse content for marketing and thought leadership

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Forgetting to schedule the event first
  • Poor lighting or audio quality
  • Weak event titles
  • No call-to-action
  • Ignoring audience comments
  • Treating LinkedIn Live too casually instead of professionally

Final Thoughts

The June 22, 2026, scheduling change pushes LinkedIn toward organized, event-driven livestreaming.

Utilize LinkedIn Live to strengthen professional branding, community engagement, or thought leadership initiatives. It remains an underutilized visibility resource.
