West Chester native Bam Margera is back on the board, sober, and building something new alongside his wife Dannii, writes Aron Vaughan for Cannabis & Tech Today.
Known worldwide for his roles in Jackass and Viva La Bam, Margera once had a doctor tell him his legs were “dry rotted rubber bands” from years of alcohol abuse and that he should give up skateboarding for good.
Dannii, a personal trainer and stretch coach, told Margera to forget the doctor’s advice.
She put him on a stretching table for an hour a day and got to work. As a result, Margera is skateboarding again, more flexible, and sober. They now follow a less chaotic lifestyle, which Margera said has been critical to maintaining sobriety and stability.
Cannabis has played a quiet but significant role in that recovery.
He sees it as a key tool in breaking free from his alcohol dependency, helping him sleep, and manage pain and cravings.
“He’s not a big smoker…” noted Dannii. “He’s really grown out of honestly everything. This was something that broke him away from the nasty devil alcohol.”
The couple recently launched BAM THC, a brand built around products they personally use and tested before going to market.
The lineup includes lidocaine THC balms in three strengths, gummies, flower, vape pens, and CBD roll-ons, all distributed out of Miami. They are currently available in 4,500 stores across Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee.
“I only sign deals for stuff I completely put my heart into,” Margera said. “Dannii has been at the factory testing products, calling back saying, ‘This is good, but this could be better.’ This has been a year in the making.”
