Phresh Prints Ink Celebrates Decade of Growth With Grand Opening of New Shop

Phresh Prints Ink is celebrating 10 years of producing apparel for various Philadelphia organizations as it opens new North Philly shop.

Phresh Prints Ink reverently celebrated a decade of producing apparel for various Philadelphia organizations with the grand opening of its new shop, writes Sarah Huffman for Technical.ly.

Now located on Fox Street, the North Philadelphia print shop focuses on screen printing, embroidery, and sports uniforms and is already preparing for its next stage of growth.

Owner Nasir Yard hopes to serve as an example of how a community-based small business can grow through local relationships and public-sector partnerships, while also offering hands-on support for future generations.

“I’ve definitely been encouraged and motivated by my community, the people I help and my employees,” he said.

In the 2010s, Yard launched his clothing brand Skeem Team and initially sold his designs out of the back of his car. As demand grew, he expanded it and within a few years it had grown into the full-service business he runs today. This now includes producing uniforms for local youth and high school sports teams in partnership with the City of Philadelphia.

“It just took off,” said Yard. “I don’t know if it was the logo or the name or the marketing behind it, maybe a mix of all three.”
