Philadelphia will be getting its own city-themed MONOPOLY board game next year and the creators are seeking the public’s input on which places should be showcased in the game.
Tim Barney, a representative from the game’s creator Top Trumps USA Inc., spoke on the goals of the game, stating that they are aiming to create an accurate portrayal of the city.
“In many ways, this edition is a love letter to Philadelphia,” he said. “From the small, local gems and mom-and-pops to the biggest names known around the world. We’re recruiting everyone who loves Philly to tell us who and what should be featured. We aim to make a game that folks are proud of and truly feels like home.”
While the well-known Rocky Statue, Liberty Bell, and Reading Terminal Market are near locks to make it to the game, the company wants the public’s input in suggesting more things that “captures the most essential elements of Philadelphia.”
Philadelphia residents are encouraged to recommend established Philadelphia businesses and nonprofits to be a part of the upcoming game.
MONOPOLY: Philadelphia Edition is scheduled to be available for purchase in November 2026.
