Kevin Kelley, the attorney-turned-restaurateur, is preparing to bring his growing chain of restaurants to Philadelphia when Kitchen + Kocktails by Kevin Kelley opens, writes Jason Sheehan for Philadelphia Magazine.
The incoming restaurant will replace the former Del Frisco’s Grille on South Broad Street, which closed earlier this year.
It’s location on the ground floor of the Cambria Hotel will add 7,200 square feet of restaurant space to the equation, making it the largest Black-owned restaurant in Philadelphia. It will also add about 125 hospitality jobs.
The menu will feature “elevated Southern comfort” food. Dish options include fried chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, fried green tomatoes and jerk lamp chops, collard greens, candied yams, fried catfish, and more.
Kitchen + Kocktails by Kevin Kelley’s location places it right in between Rittenhouse Square and Midtown Village, two of the city’s busiest and most vast restaurant neighborhoods.
The new Kitchen + Kocktails in Philadelphia is scheduled to open on Saturday, October 18.
The first location opened in Dallas in 2020. Since then, new locations have opened in Chicago, Washington, D.C., Charlotte, and Atlanta.
