As the nation prepares to celebrate its 250th birthday, Ursinus College is investing in the next generation right here in Montco. Beginning in fall 2026, the America250 Tuition Promise for Montgomery County both expands access to higher education for local students and honors the county’s historic role in the nation’s founding.
Created in honor of the America250 celebration in Montgomery County and across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the America250 Tuition Promise for Montgomery County prioritizes enrollment of students from Ursinus’s own backyard.
“This program is about removing uncertainty for families and sending a clear message to our local Montgomery County students that Ursinus is invested in them,” said Lauren Sciocchetti, associate vice president for enrollment management at the school. “As we approach America’s 250th anniversary, we’re proud to honor our region’s history by making an Ursinus education more accessible to the students who live, learn, and contribute here.”
Through the program, eligible students will be guaranteed that tuition will not exceed $10,000 per year, renewable for up to four years. Students must reside on campus and must remain enrolled as a full-time, residential student to receive the guarantee each year.
Current high school seniors who reside in Montgomery County are eligible.
On July 4, 2026, the United States will mark a historic milestone: America’s 250th birthday. The America250 celebration offers an opportunity to reflect on the nation’s past while investing intentionally in its future.
Ursinus will offer multiple opportunities for students to engage in research and learning about America’s history and Montgomery County’s place in that history through the college’s Civic Spark: Policy and Democracy Hub, one of eight innovation hubs that serve as the core of APEX at Ursinus.
Ursinus is a long-standing institution deeply rooted in the region. It has served as a key anchor institution in Montgomery County, engaging meaningfully with the community for more than 150 years.
