Lou Turk’s, Tinicum’s Gentleman’s Club, Is Getting a New Name

Lou Turk's in Tinicum is rebranding as The Carousel Delco, with an enhanced menu, amenities, and new management.

Lou Turk’s, Delaware County’s only strip club, is changing its name to The Carousel Delco, part of a rebranding for this 50-year-old Delco icon, writes Stephanie Farr for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Referring to itself as a “gentleman’s club,” Lou Turk’s posted the name change Jan. 31 on its Facebook and Instagram pages.

“We are still a Delco bar—always have been, always will,” the post stated. “The history, the memories, and the community remain deeply woven into who we are.”

Reddit users were skeptical.

“They already had a name everyone knows. People are still gonna call it Lou Turks anyway,” wrote Dangerous_Sail_2853.

”Did private equity take over Lou Turk’s?” asked MonsieurRuffles.

The name change comes with new signage, renovations, new amenities, an enhanced menu, and new management.

The club at 500 Powhattan Ave. in Essington plans to continue its annual Mother’s Day and Easter flower sales, a Delco tradition that’s shown up as popular memes.

Lou Turk’s began in the mid-60s under the late Louis Saddic, better known as Lou Turk.

It first got its reputation as a strip club in 1973 when it was cited by the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board for “lewd, immoral or improper entertainment,” according to Inquirer archives.
