Temple University alumnus Joseph Nguyen is the multifaceted individual who describes himself as someone who “live[s] three different lives,” writes Marilyn Anthony for Grid Magazine.
Nguyen, who graduated from Temple in 2020 with a degree in international business, is a triple threat. He performs audits for corporate and government clients, competes as a Muay Thai martial artist, and runs his own Instagram-based business.
His coffee business, The Coffee Connoisseur Club, was launched in 2023 to foster a “conscious and concise” connoisseurship among customers.
Through his Instagram store, customers can order a variety of specialty coffees and also provide feedback and suggestions on each new release.
Nguyen’s foray into the coffee business after a collapsed lung sparked his interest in CBD-infused athletic recovery beverages. From there, he entered the Fox School of Business‘ Be Your Own Boss Bowl business plan competition.
While he didn’t win the competition, La Colombe was interested in his concept and he started selling CBD-infused cold brew at pop-ups as a new side hustle.
For him, he wants to transform coffee from being just a commodity to a “culmination of culture and palate.”
This helps him connect to his native, Vietnam, where he often sources his coffee strains.
