Dhamir Cosby-Roundtree, who starred as a forward for Neumann Goretti High School’s basketball team, is coming back home to Philadelphia, writes Colin Schofield for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
He was recently hired as Temple University men’s basketball team’s new director of player development, under head coach Adam Fisher.
He and Fisher go way back.
When deciding where to attend college, Cosby-Roundtree was contemplating between Miami and Villanova.
At the time, Fisher was leading recruitment efforts as assistant coach for Miami.
While Cosby-Roundtree ultimately committed to Villanova, he and Fisher always stayed in touch.
They reconnected during the NBA Summer League games in 2025, when Cosby-Roundtree was working as a video assistant with the Brooklyn Nets.
Looking to fill the player development position on his staff, Fisher tapped Cosby-Roundtree for the role.
“I’ve been enjoying it. I love it,” Cosby-Roundtree said. “I’m learning so much about college basketball coaching now, compared to what it was when I was playing. I think for me, the biggest learning curve is patience.”
While he wasn’t initially interested in coaching, sitting out due to injury during huge chunks of the latter part of his college career at Villanova gave him a new perspective.
His journey has helped him learn more about the ins and outs of coaching.
