As 2026 quickly approaches, many are already planning trips, and Philadelphia is among the top places to travel, write Laura Itzkowitz, Elizabeth Stamp, Elizabeth Fazzare, Livia Caligor for Architectural Digest.
A design publication, the list of the top 19 places to travel in 2026 was selected through factors, such as major cultural happenings, debuting hotels, new museum openings, and once-in-a-decade natural wonders, among others.
Philadelphia fits all of these categories.
In September 2025, Philadelphia celebrated the opening of Calder Gardens, a new 1.8-acre campus art institution that honors the work of the late artist Alexander Calder.
Next year, Philadelphia’s creative community will see public programming at the new Village of Industry & Art. This new institution by designer-developer Scout is located into two former University of the Arts buildings and will feature BlackStar Projects, AIA Philadelphia, and pop-up bar Frankie’s Summer Club.
The 120-year-old Bellevue hotel will also see new renovations in 2026, and will become the new home of the first Bathhouse location outside of New York City in the summer.
