Wanamaker Christmas Light Show, Dickens Village Return for 2025 Holiday Season

A Philadelphia tradition since 1956, the Wanamaker Christmas Light Show and Dickens Village is returning for this year's holiday season.

Two long-time holiday traditions — the Wanamaker Christmas Light Show and Dickens Village — have officially returned for the 2025 holiday season, writes Cherise Lynch for NBC10 Philadelphia.

The returns place an answer to a year of uncertainty surrounding the beloved traditions after Macy’s closed back in March.

The Wanamaker Light Show and Dickens Village made its official return on Friday, November 28.

This past summer, a new campaign titled “Save the Light Show” was unveiled in an effort to ensure that the light show would return this year. More than 1,000 Philadelphians spanning generations contributed to the campaign.

The light show will run each hour between 12 p.m. and 6 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays until Thursday, December 11. Afterwards, the show will expand to daily performances from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Meanwhile, Wanamaker Organ concerts will continue to take place and follow the light show twice daily.

Visitors will still be able to catch the show on Christmas Eve from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Furthermore, Dickens Village will be floors above. There, visitors can find about 40 vendors of pop-up food and drink options. While free to enter, guests will be required to have a timed-entry ticket in order for organizers to manage the crowds.
