Nike’s First Jordan Brand World of Flight U.S. Store in Philadelphia Set to Open Oct. 10

Jordan Brand World of Flight will be celebrating the opening of its first U.S. store in Philadelphia with a block party on Oct. 10, starting at 4 p.m.

More than a year after Nike announced plans to open its first World of Flight store in the U.S. right here in Philadelphia, we now have an official opening date of Friday, October 4, writes Michael Tanenbaum for PhillyVoice.

Philadelphia will be joining Beijing, Mexico City, Milan, Seoul, and Tokyo as the only cities with a World of Flight store.

World of Flight is a global store designed to spotlight Michael Jordan and his legacy as an ambassador and footwear pioneer with the Nike brand.

The stores carry sneakers available for all, as well as a variety of collector’s items. There are also customization workshops where shoppers can personalize the apparel they are looking to purchase.

The new Philadelphia store will host a range of community events, according to Nike.

“We are looking to serve a community that’s rich in culture and also drives one of the largest basketball demand markets in the U.S.,” Jeremy Bolds, Jordan Brand’s general manager in North America, said in a statement. “We will meet and exceed their needs, not only with an incredible Jordan Brand retail experience but also by expanding out with programming — elevating local athletes, artists, creators and fans.”

A block party will take place to celebrate its grand opening.
