Beloved QVC Group designer Stan Herman is leaving the company after thirty-two years, writes Rosemary Feitelberg for WWD115.

The 95-year-old designer has sold tens of millions of units through the network since joining QVC in 1993. He appeared on-air for the West Chester-based company over the decades to market his designs.

Herman also served as president of the Council of Fashion Designers of America for sixteen years.

Herman began as a loungewear designer for QVC, earning the nickname “The King of Chenille.” He also designed uniforms for major companies across industries, including McDonald’s and Amtrak, in addition to current projects for JetBlue and FedEx.

The company will continue to sell existing Stan Herman merchandise until they sell out.

QVC will honor Herman’s career with an hour-long show on Nov. 11, where Herman will be joined by the woman who first joined him on air in 1993. Herman will then join Dennis Basso to dance the hora during “Dennis and Friends” to wrap up his last QVC appearance.

In his retirement, Herman looks forward to finishing his next book, which will feature sketches and personal details from his decades-spanning career.
