This Philadelphia High School is the Best in the State, According to Niche

Niche's latest rankings of the top high schools in Pennsylvania has a Philadelphia high school right atop the list.

Niche has released its newest round of top high schools in the state and a Philadelphia high school is at the very top of the list, writes Mike D’Onofrio for AXIOS Philadelphia.

Julia R. Masterman Laboratory and Demonstration School is the top high school in Pennsylvania, having jumped more than a dozens spots from last year’s national school rankings.

Masterman is no stranger to Niche’s list of the top public high schools in the nation and the state.

Nationally, it ranked No. 68 in America.

With a 98 percent reading proficiency and 84 percent math proficiency, Masterman has proven to be a top-tier school for its 5th through 12th grade students.

While the remainder of the top five schools in the state features two in Chester County, and one in Delaware County and Allegheny County, respectively, a Philadelphia school is sixth, that being Central High School.

Niche uses data from the U.S. Department of Education, National Center for Education Statistics, and other sources to create its ranking algorithm.

It also analyzes millions of school reviews from students, teachers, and parents.
