Phoenixville’s Amanda Wood, founder and CEO of The Haute Edit, prides herself on her fashion advice, wardrobe assistance, and the ability to elevate the home and style of any individual, write Gina Lizzo and Eileen Smith Dallabrida for Main Line Today.
The Haute Edit is Wood’s home base for all things style. As a personal stylist, she seeks to transform the clothes you wear and the home you live in to make it truly more you. Through her services, clients are offered the chance to change their wardrobes, update their homes, create branded websites, and more.
While Wood started her career in real estate, she quickly realized that her own style didn’t match her goals of success. She took the time to find herself in minimalist pieces, tailored items, neutral tones, and chic high-street vibes.
For Wood, fashion matters because it encapsulates who you are as a person. She has seen her clients’ mindsets and energies shift because they look different and feel different.
Some wardrobe items she can’t live without include a tailored blazer, comfy wide-leg jeans, and her glasses — she wouldn’t be able to see the shirt in front of her without them.
What she doesn’t recommend is wearing items that make you feel uncomfortable, only saving certain clothes for special occasions, or buying things you probably didn’t love in the first place. Yet, style is an evolution that constantly changes with age and as you grow.
Wood’s best piece of fashion advice reads, “Take the time to discover what you truly love to wear, define your aspirational style, and identify the gaps in your wardrobe.”
