New Visit Philadelphia Campaign Aims to Attract Visitors, Residents for America’s 250th Anniversary

Visit Philadelphia has launched a new national campaign that places Philadelphia at the forefront ahead of the country's 250th anniversary.

Visit Philadelphia has launched a new $9 million national campaign to attract visitors and residents ahead of America’s 250th anniversary next year.

“Whether it’s your first visit to Philadelphia or your fiftieth, 2026 is the year to experience our city,” Angela Val, president and CEO of Visit Philadelphia, said in a press release. “We’re inviting the nation to join us for 52 weeks of celebrations, from new exhibitions and neighborhood festivals to major sporting events, while reminding our residents that this milestone is theirs to celebrate too. There’s no better place to mark the nation’s 250th than right here in Philadelphia, the birthplace of American democracy.”

With the campaign launch comes the debut of “Anything But Silent,” a 60-second commercial that highlights Philadelphia’s place as a leader of the nation over these 250 years.

It features several Philadelphia locations and residents, and emphasizes that democracy in Philadelphia is an active and ongoing pursuit and not just a historical artifact.

Later this year, Visit Philadelphia will expand its 2026 marketing campaign to Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, and Miami. The multi-faceted media mix will include high-profile print placements, digital and traditional ads, broadcast TV, video streams, social media campaigns, and more.

The September 9 launch date is the same date the Second Continental Congress adopted the “United States of America” name in 1776.
