Eastern University has launched an online Master of Science in Applied Artificial Intelligence (MSAAI), a cutting-edge program designed to equip students with the technical skills, ethical foundation, and critical thinking needed to lead in one of today’s fastest-growing fields.
With a 100-percent-online, flexible, self-paced format, the program fits into the lives of working professionals and can be completed in as little as 10 months at a total cost of $9,900.
The MSAAI joins Eastern’s robust suite of graduate mathematics and data science programs, including the M.S. in Data Science, M.S. in Data Analytics, and graduate certificates in Data Science and Data Analytics.
“At Eastern, we believe A.I. should serve people, not replace or overshadow them,” said Dr. Greg Longo, Eastern’s Assistant Dean of the School of Mathematics and Computational Sciences. “Our M.S. in Applied A.I. equips students with the skills to make A.I. practical, responsible, and built for real-world impact. Students learn not just how to use A.I., but how to use it wisely, solving problems in a way that reflects a commitment to human flourishing and the common good.”
The MSAAI stands out for its practical, real-world focus. Students don’t just study A.I.; they learn to build, evaluate, and lead applied A.I. solutions that drive results across industries, from cloud-based deployments to intelligent customer-facing systems. Graduates will be prepared to:
- design, implement, and lead practical, A.I.-driven solutions across business and technical domains
- gain hands-on experience in machine learning, cloud-based A.I. tools, data engineering, and ethical A.I. deployment
- be equipped to navigate the real-world challenges and implications of a rapidly developing A.I. landscape
“A.I. is transforming every industry,” said Dr. Tracey Greenwood, Dean of Eastern’s College of Health & Sciences. “With our new MSAAI program, we’re not only teaching students how to develop and apply A.I. technologies, but also how to do so ethically and responsibly. We’re excited to prepare the next generation of leaders who will shape the future of this rapidly evolving field.”
Rooted in a student-centered, mission-driven approach, Eastern’s faculty are committed educators who make A.I. accessible and meaningful. Graduates are prepared to step into a range of in-demand roles, including machine learning engineer, A.I. solutions developer, NLP engineer, data scientist, and A.I. business strategist.
