Chester County Community Foundation Hosts Board of Directors Institute for Nonprofits

West Chester University Foundation hosted about 170 individuals interested in learning about creating excellence through high-impact boards.

Attendees gained practical skills, networked, and left with actionable plans.

Open networking and resource tables enabled attendees to connect and build relationships.

Table discussions fostered collaboration, and everyone enjoyed food and refreshments.

Zebulun Davenport, Ed.D., gave opening remarks about an ideal Board of Directors. Robbe Healey, MBA, NHA, ACFRE, FAFP, then delivered an inspiring keynote on High-Impact Boards.

I also received some terrific ideas on how to promote the need for new Board members for the Great Careers Network, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, from Stephanie Stevens, the Grants Director & Outreach Officer at the CCCF.

We especially need a new Chair (our current one has retired after 8 years), and we are ready to expand with additional roles in HR, IT, Strategic Initiatives, Communications, Social Media, Legal, Secretary, Learning & Development, and advisory members.

Read about our purpose, vision, mission, and values.

If you are interested in joining our Board to support job seekers, entrepreneurs, small businesses, and professionals with career education and networking, please review our Board application. Then contact me directly to discuss how you can contribute and make an impact.

We invite everyone who attended to sign up for LinkedIn for Nonprofits at one of my upcoming presentations and discover how our organization can support you. You don’t know what you don’t know!

You can also gather some information from my recent LinkedIn newsletter article: Seeking a Volunteer or Board Member Role? Celebrating Volunteers!

Several individuals have contacted me through LinkedIn, and we continue to seek additional interested parties as we develop our new website.

If you were unable to attend the 2025 Board of Directors Institute, you can access the PowerPoint presentation and additional resources on the CCCF website.
