Chef Yehuda Sichel of Huda is preparing to open a new burger spot in Fishtown in August, writes Michael Tanenbaum for PhillyVoice.
Huda is known for its homemade milk buns.
At the new Frankford Avenue spot, the plan is to serve a rotating selection of burgers on fluffy, Japanese-style seeded buns and the same milk-based recipe used at its original Rittenhouse Square location.
Among the initial menu items will include a pastrami fried onion burger, between five and six other burger choices, a number of crispy chicken sandwiches, fries, and milkshakes.
Huda has been a part of Philadelphia’s food scene since 2019 after Sichel branched out from CookNSolo restaurant background.
His decision to expand his Rittenhouse location to Fishtown is a calculated one.
“Fishtown is quickly becoming a burger mecca, and we think the neighborhood will really connect with a local concept that’s all about great ingredients, serious flavor, and amazing burgers,” Sichel said in a statement.
