Central Bucks School District is preparing to host a hiring event on Aug. 25 to fill more than 100 open positions before the start of the upcoming school year, writes Jess Rohan for the Bucks County Courier Times.
The event will take place at Central Bucks South High School from 4 PM to 7 PM. The open support staff positions include bus drivers, custodians and aides.
The fair will be held after the school board approves child abuse training requirements for employees, following the Jamison Elementary allegations.
There might also be openings for educational assistants and personal care assistants, according to spokesperson Mike Petitti.
“The district is working diligently to properly identify the unique needs of students and employ the necessary staff to support them,” said Petitti.
During the job fair, applicants will be able to speak with human resources and departmental representatives about any questions they may have. Screening interviews will also be conducted on-site.
The school board is expected to advance new child abuse recognition and reporting requirements during its July 24 policy committee meeting.
