In a recent ranking of the twenty-five best suburbs in the greater Philadelphia area, six Chester County towns and suburbs placed in the top fifteen, writes staff for Stacker.
Using data from Niche, Stacker evaluated suburban Philadelphia towns based on several criteria. This included diversity, cost of living, the percentage of population with college degrees, and the quality of schools and housing.
Chesterbrook ranked at No.1 of all twenty-five suburbs. With a population of 5,428, the suburb is close to Conestoga High School and Malvern Preparatory School, and features an “A” rating for outdoor activities.
Coming in at No. 10, Paoli features a median rental price of $1,801 and proximity to both public and private schools. The town received a C+ rating for both cost of living and weather.
Upper Uwchlan Township placed as the No. 9 best suburb. The township is home to the Downingtown STEM Academy and Lionville Middle School, and has a median home price of $561,600.
Ranking as the twelfth best Philadelphia suburb, East Marlborough Township has a relatively lower median rental price of $896. The township is home to Unionville High School and Westtown School, and received a B- cost of living grade.
Exton ranked fourteenth with a median rental price of $1,943. Exton is close to Henderson High School, as well as both The Episcopal Academy and Malvern Prep.
East Whiteland Township followed, with closeness to Great Valley High School and an overall Niche grade of A+.
