Wissahickon Brewing Company in East Falls recently celebrated the opening of its second location, bringing new daily breakfast and lunch options to a neighborhood in Olde Kensington, where it’s been rather light, writes Jenn Ladd for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
The new brewery is open seven days a week from 7 AM to 11 PM during the week and 8 AM to 11 PM on weekends.
For the early morning crowd, coffee and tea from Wirlybird Coffee are the popular beverages of choice. Meanwhile, the beer, cider, and kombucha starts to rear its head at around 11 AM.
The opening of Wissahickon Brewing’s second location is the result of 18 months worth of renovation. The 7,500-square-foot space features two mezzanines, making room for 200 seats. Its rebuilt 7-barrel production space will be dedicated to making Inspired Brews, which is a kombucha brand that Wissahickon acquired back in 2023.
“We bootstrapped a lot of this,” said Tim Gill Jr., who owns the brewery alongside his brothers Luke and Pete, and their father and founder Tim Gill.
The morning menu isn’t yet finalized; however, the plan is to start off with yogurt, fruit bowls, and other grab-and-go options, along with breakfast sandwiches.
Meanwhile, the new taproom has 24 draft lines.
