The Philadelphia Water Department (PWD)’s Bureau of Laboratory Sciences will be hosting an open house and career fair event on Saturday, June 7.
The open house will allow guests to meet the scientists who do water testing before and after the water treatment process. This process ensures customers receive the highest quality tap water in their homes.
At the career fair, guests can explore various careers and meet with employees at the Philadelphia Water Department who help make a difference for the environment and the City of Philadelphia. Attendees will also be able to connect with current employees and talk to HR professionals onsite.
Available positions include science technicians, graduate environment engineer and scientists, graduate chemists, roofers, and more.
Registration to attend the career fair is not necessary. However, attendees are asked to bring ID.
In addition to the open house and career fair, there will also be lead plumbing info sessions available. There, guests can learn about PWD’s new Service Line Inventory, tips to protect your drinking water, and ongoing and upcoming PWD lead plumbing initiatives throughout Philadelphia.
These sessions will be held at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. respectively, and last about an hour each. You can register for the first session here, and the latter session.
This event will take place Saturday, June 7, at the Bureau of Laboratory Sciences at 1500 E Hunting Park Ave., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
