Southeast Asian Market at FDR Park Returns April 5, Will Run Through End of October

The Southeast Asian Market, which has attracted dozens and vendors and hundreds of shoppers, is returning on Saturday, April 5.

For decades, the Southeast Asian Market at FDR Park has attracted vendors and shoppers alike and this season’s iteration is set to return on Saturday, April 5, writes Michael Tanenbaum for PhillyVoice.

The Southeast Asian Market will be open each weekend from 10 AM to 6 PM through October in two different locations at FDR Park, respectively.

From April through June, vendors will set up tables in a picnic area on South Broad Street, near the park’s entrance. From July through October, the market will be held near Edgewood Lake and the Taney Baseball field, in another picnic area.

More than six dozen vendors will be participating. Each of them will be offering a combination of traditional dishes and street foods. There will also be stands selling produce, clothing, jewelry, and plants, among other items.

Melissa Khmer BBQ, which is known for a wide selection of meat skewers and sticky rice desserts, will be one of the several returning vendors. Another returning vendor will be Rom’s Grill, popular for its Khmer beef sausages and Thai pork.

While the Southeast Asian Market will be open nearly each weekend, it will close on Sunday, May 4, for the Broad Street Run and Sundays when the Eagles play home games.
