Malvern's Bounce Pickleball is expanding to Philadelphia with a new indoor pickleball complex inside a former Di Bruno Brothers warehouse.

“We should be able to get 12 courts and two warm-up courts in there,” said Braden Keith, the company’s operations manager.

Bounce has already signed a lease for around 30,000 square feet of the 64,000-square-foot building.

The company considered several sites for its expansion, including the top floor of the historic Wanamaker Building, but they proved to be either unsuitable for pickleball or too costly.

Following the model of its Malvern pickleball club, Bounce will focus on open and accessible play, teaching, and special events at the new location.

“We want to be the kind of space with a strong sense of community where everybody can find somebody to play with,” said Keith.

The company estimated that the conversion of the warehouse space into a pickleball club would cost around $500,000. One of the key draws to the site is its 42 parking spaces.

Bounce’s Malvern club has 2,300 paid memberships and an additional 2,400 non-members visiting annually as guests or for lessons.
