Aramark, South Philadelphia Sports Complex Food Workers Reach Deal on Tentative New Contract

Aramark and the local union that has been representing food workers at all three stadiums at the South Philadelphia Sports Complex, have agreed to terms on a new, 6-year tentative deal with enhanced benefits. This is after more than a year of negotiations.

Aramark and and UNITE HERE Local 274, the union that represents thousands of food service workers in the Philadelphia region, has reach a new tentative labor contract agreement, writes David Chang for NBC 10 Philadelphia.

This marks the likely end of a more than year-long negotiation period between the two sides. The union has been representing food service workers at the South Philadelphia Sports Complex.

“Our members have shown what is possible when you stick together and are committed to a vision of changing your workplace and your life,” said Rosslyn Wuchinich, president of UNITE HERE Local 274. “These are historic contracts that win health insurance access for hundreds of workers who had none.”

In addition, the new six-year agreement includes a $20 per hour minimum with goals of getting everyone to at least $24 hourly by 2029.

The food service workers impacted by this new contract covers all three stadiums at the South Philadelphia Sports Complex. They are: Citizens Bank Park, Lincoln Financial Field, and the Wells Fargo Center.
