Qurate, the parent company of West Chester-based QVC, officially changed its name to QVC Group, and is now trading under “QVCGA,” “QVCGB,” and “QVCGP” symbols, writes David Moin for the Women’s Wear Daily.
The “rebranding” is an “important milestone in our nearly 50-year evolution as a collection of leading retail brands,” said David Rawlinson II, president and chief executive officer of the group.
In addition to QVC, the group includes HSN, Ballard Designs, Frontgate, Garnet Hill, and Grandin Road.
The company is also consolidating operations by closing HSN’s campus in St. Petersburg, Florida, and relocating its network to QVC’s Studio Park in West Chester.
“This reorganization is the next step in executing our plan and realizing our expansion into live social shopping,” said a QVC Group spokesperson. The company “anticipates role eliminations, as well as relocations and shifts to virtual working in certain circumstances, and is in the process of determining specific impacts to various functions across the business.”
The group’s previous name was an amalgamation of QVC and the word “curate,” which had been in place for six years before the current rebranding changes were finalized.
