Bond Vet, a New York-based walk-in veterinary clinic chain specializing in primary and urgent pet care, has expanded to Narberth, writes John George for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
The next step is a second location in Rittenhouse Square by summer, backed by a $170 million investment from private equity firm Warburg Pincus.
“Philadelphia is a natural next step for us,” said Allison Turner, Bond Vet’s senior vice president for development. The company already operates in New York, Chicago, and Boston.
Bond Vet’s clinics offer same-day and walk-in appointments, late and weekend hours, an in-house pharmacy, surgical and diagnostic equipment, telehealth services, and a 24/7 pet parent helpline. The Narberth site provides wellness exams, vaccines, surgeries, dental cleanings, and travel health certificates, with two veterinarians on-site at all times.
Founded in 2019 by Mo Punjani and Dr. Zay Satchu, Bond Vet now has 57 locations across eight states and Washington, D.C. As it continues its national expansion, Turner noted that California is a potential future market.
Philadelphia’s large pet-owning population makes it an attractive location, with 788,000 dog-owning and 568,000 cat-owning households, according to 2021 Census data.
